H2Global’s ammonia contract prices a delivery commitment

Hintco’s signed producer purchase is one side of the mechanism. Resale to European users is a later transaction with a shorter contractual horizon.

Hintco has announced a signed renewable-ammonia supply contract with Fertiglobe. The pilot auction reported a €1,000-per-tonne contract price including European delivery and separately identified a €811-per-tonne net ammonia price. Those are published price bases for the purchase arrangement.

The H2Global model connects a long producer purchase with shorter sales to European users. Hintco’s first-tender announcement says public funding covers the expected difference between purchase and resale prices. Germany’s €900 million pilot support was assigned to the initiative through Hintco, rather than to Fertiglobe alone. This supports a longer producer commitment while end-user sales are organised over shorter periods.

The published lot detail describes a minimum purchase of 40,000 tonnes annually for 2028-2033, with options. Fertiglobe’s 28 July 2026 report describes planned renewable-ammonia output of up to 79,000 tonnes a year using Egypt Green hydrogen at its existing facilities, and still presents the award as support toward FID.

For the producer, the public procurement arrangement supplies a defined sales commitment within a larger production case. The eventual resale result determines the gap on the demand side of the mechanism. The difference between the published €1,000 and €811 figures is a separate price-basis comparison and is not an observed subsidy payment.
