NEOM’s Air Products offtake and Yara distribution serve different roles

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company’s May 2023 financial-close announcement names Air Products as exclusive offtaker for all green ammonia produced at the project for 30 years. In its July 2026 results release, Air Products reports a finalized marketing and distribution agreement with Yara for renewable ammonia from NEOM. Its CEO describes marketing and delivery through Yara’s global supply chain.

The SEC filing calls the project-level agreement take-if-tendered. That wording identifies the disclosed Air Products arrangement, while the later Yara agreement is specifically described as marketing and distribution. The difference places the two relationships at separate points in the sales chain.

The two announcements describe a route from production to market at different points. The 2023 filing identifies the project’s buyer and the disclosed offtake form. Air Products’ 2026 statement then names a downstream marketing and distribution partner. Yara’s involvement gives the reported sales route a specific channel through which product can reach customers.

ACWA expects first product availability in 2027. That is the next named product milestone in the cited material. A later report of volumes marketed and delivered through Yara would connect the announced distribution arrangement with actual use of the sales route. The detailed allocation of demand and shortfall risk remains in contracts that the public announcements do not reproduce.
